Last Thursday 17th June, the whole of UV (Year 11), LVI and UVI (Years 12 and 13) along with several members of staff, gathered in Chapel for a live Q&A with Katty Kay: BBC North America news anchor and author of several bestselling books on women, confidence and success.
Amelia and Zara (Year 13) were well prepared to interview Katty with both open and incisive questions on her life, journalistic career and right through to global politics and the implications of last week’s meeting of Presidents Biden and Putin. The positive response from the whole audience was extraordinary as Katty shared her insights on wide-ranging areas and gave uplifting, inspirational advice to our generation of young women at an important juncture in their lives. Takeaways that the girls shared afterwards included, “it’s OK to take risks”, “everyone fails – it's how you deal with it that matters”, and, “you are more valuable than you think".
