Following an injury to her foot which meant she was unable to complete her Gold Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) walking expedition, Amy in UVI (Year 13) shares her fascinating experience of completing her expedition in Scotland by kayak this summer.
The UV (Year 11) set out on Friday afternoon for the start of their Silver DofE Practice Expedition. It was a bit of a baptism of fire as, due to Covid, they had not been able to complete their Bronze expeditions.
On Sunday 13th January, the Year 10 Bronze DofE teams completed all their planning for their Bronze DofE Practice Expedition.
On Sunday 25th September, nine Bronze DofE Teams set off from Gibbins House for a circular training walk in the All Cannings area.
Congratulations to the 19 Sixth Form girls who successfully completed their Gold Final Expeditions in the Yorkshire Dales in July.
On Sunday 20th September, eight teams of LV girls set off on their Bronze DofE Walk in the local area of Stanton St Bernard.
On 2nd July, a group of LVI girls set off for the Lake District to complete their Gold DofE Final Walking Expedition.
