The Summer Photography Competition that ran earlier this term has been great fun. We have had almost 100 entries from students and teachers from all over the world, in three categories: Inside, Outside, and Company Colour.

On Thursday 25th June, the UIV (Year 9) girls took part in four virtual sessions covering a variety of typical activities in Girlguiding. They also heard from Miss Bloomer about her time volunteering at a Girl Scout Camp in America - perhaps something to consider in the future after Sixth Form?
Last week, the Year 12 girls participated in our first inter-school general knowledge quiz against Marlborough College. It took place via Zoom and was a brilliant way to spend the evening!
On Tuesday 16th June, the entire Fourth Form took part in the Company Classics Competition. This was a wonderful opportunity for girls to experience aspects of Classical Civilisation and Latin outside of the classroom and have the freedom to produce a really creative piece of work at the end.

On the evening of 17th June, we held our first virtual English Society, with about 15 girls from Years 11 and 12. We were delighted to welcome guest speaker, Mairin O'Hagan, who spoke to us about being a playwright, running two theatre companies and studying English at Cambridge.
The Sixth Form participated in the Biology Olympiad last term. The Olympiad is a national competition and very challenging, looking for breadth and depth of biological knowledge beyond the specifications.
Last Thursday (4th June) saw our first Virtual Science Club, 'Science Club @ Home', for Years 7 and 8. The girls had a wonderful time experimenting with soap boat racers and looking at convection currents.
Last week, we had our first virtual fixture with Downe House and Sherborne Girls. There were three categories: a 3km Virtual Race for all age groups; a Pentathlon Challenge for the Year 10 down and a TikTok Challenge for Year 11.
