In addition to the national vote, St Mary’s girls had their chance to make their views heard. On Thursday 23rd June Ballot boxes opened at 8am in the houses to allow the girls to vote on whether the UK should leave or remain in the European Union.

The ballot boxes were counted with the help of LVI and UV students- those currently studying Government and Politics as well as those who were simply interested in helping. The overall results for St Mary’s Calne were:

Turnout: 75.5%
Remain: 75.1%
Leave: 24.4%
Spoilt ballot: 0.4%
