Science to PhotographyThese workshops ran throughout National Science Week during lunch times; the students learnt how pioneers of the 19th century tackled capturing an image without the use of a camera, by using techniques such as Cyanotype.

The girls had the chance to try this process themselves and, for the most part, the weather played ball, enabling us to produce great prints in the sun! This workshop also gave them an opportunity to appreciate how Science and Art are linked and how this relationship has endured throughout history. Most of the sessions took place in the dark room – hence no photographs – but here is a picture of some of the results!
