On Thursday 8th February, the LIV and MIV girls (Years 7 & 8) visited the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth. After a brisk walk to the Mary Rose Museum, the girls explored this fantastic exhibition, discovering the history of the Mary Rose and how she was recovered and conserved.
As part of Enrichment Week, on 8th February the entire UIV Form (Year 9) set out in an excited mood to Wales. They were on their way to the Roman Legionary Museum at Caerleon and the Roman civilian town of Caerwent.
As part of the Enrichment Week activities, on Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th February, Years 7 and 9 (LIV and UIV) attended a 'MyChocolate' Workshop.
The culmination of this, the 11th RADA Advanced Communications Course, saw the girls travel to RADA in London on 6th February to give their final presentations to a a specialist panel.
On Thursday 1st February, as part of our series of lunch time Careers Seminars, Fifth and Sixth Form girls were able to hear from Josh Mastin-Lee about his very recent experience of studying Law at LSE before completing his LLM in Commercial Legal Practice, which includes the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at BPP London.
The Ed Rich Company Supper chose 'Magic' as its theme this year and, as usual, the girls' imaginations rose to the challenge.
On Monday 5th February, LIV and MIV participated in the Stock Market Challenge activity in Top Hall, at school – as part of the Fourth Form Enrichment week programme. This Challenge was run by two men who began by introducing themselves and the aim of the activity, which was simply to make the most amount of money.
The second English Society meeting was held in Florence Dyas House on the evening of 2nd February.
On the afternoon of 6th February, as part of Enrichment Week, the whole of the LIV (Year 7) were taken by the Religious Studies' Department firstly to the Shri Guru Nanak Gurdwara in Swindon, and then on to St Bartholomew & All Saints Church in Royal Wootton Bassett.
The UIV girls (Year 9) completed a six-hour Outdoor First Aid Training course on Monday 5th February, delivered by the excellent Wiltshire Outdoor Learning Team, in preparation for their Bronze DofE expeditions in LV Form (Year 10).
On Monday 5th February, Dave Smith held a humour writing workshop for the LIV, MIV and also LV, as part of Enrichment Week.
We are delighted to announce that LVI Form girls, Millie and Sophie, have been invited to meet Professor Lord Winston at an evening reception at the House of Lords for the final of the Science Challenge.
