Sunday 23rd June saw the girls of St Cecilia’s (Year 9) heading to Cirencester Park Polo Club for our last outing as a House. We enjoyed learning the basics of polo from the top of very tame wooden horses, while appreciating the grace and beauty of some very real ponies being prepared by grooms, near to our picnic spot.
We enjoyed face painting and outdoor games, while we waited for the 2.30pm match to commence. We then transferred to the grandstand to spectate, and enjoyed some swift action and even more rapid transitions to fresh ponies. During the final chukka, we were treated to scones with cream. At the end of the match, we were all excited as Lara was selected to present the prizes and the Meadow Cup to the winners!
