At St Mary’s we have a long standing partnership with Springfields, a specialist school in Calne for students with additional learning needs. Our latest collaboration is very different – together we are building a car!
During Donaldson Week, half the UIV (Year 9) girls went to Paultons Park - the home of Peppa Pig! We started off the day by exploring and conquering our fears on the roller coasters.
This Donaldson Week the UIV (Year 9) girls who were not going to France had a week that focused on developing their understanding of leadership and the skills needed to be successful leaders in all aspects of their lives.
The LV (Year 10) girls doing their assessed Bronze DofE expedition set off in the wild and wet weather on the morning of Monday 10th June, knowing that solid rain was forecast for the time of their expedition.
On Sunday 9th June, after a morning of musical rehearsals, the girls in St Prisca's House (Year 8) welcomed the boys from Horris Hill School for a BBQ and rounders' match.
On Friday 7th June, Deputy Head Girls Erica and Davina and I headed to Sherborne Girls with Miss Aherne for the Girls' Schools Association (GSA) Head Girls Conference. The purpose of the day was to help us with the decisions and skills needed in leadership roles, and also to allow us to meet others in a similar position.
In March, LV (Year 10) students, Lydia, Catriona, Marguerite, Gigi, Christy and Amber took part in the Oxford German Olympiad competition. This year it was all about animals and monsters.
On the afternoon of Monday, 3rd June, the whole of LIV (Year 7) made their annual visit, some might say pilgrimage, to the International Meditation Centre at Heddington village, just a short minibus journey away from St Mary’s.
On 3rd June, our Year 7 girls were accompanied into Calne to plant up the flower planters with the local Town Council, as part of the annual 'Calne in Bloom' competition.
Calne Girl, Melissa Richardson (sister of Mrs Vicky Wilson, Deputy Chair of Governors) created the stunning floral design for the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Chelsea Flower Show London Gate this year.
Friday 17th May was the final day for all the LIV and MIV girls (Year 7 and 8) at the Cotswold Water Park, as part of their 'Challenge and Adventure' programme.
On Wednesday 8th May the CGA hosted a fantastic drinks reception at the Sloane Club in London, to celebrate the 2019 Alumna of the Year Award.
