A month ago, the entire St Mary's community came together to take part in a wide range of activities led by the LVI for Charity Week 2020. Once again, I should like to thank the LVI for the part they played in organising all of the activities, You will, no doubt, have read the article that Jolie (UVI) wrote having interviewed the charity’s Director, Jo Kitching, about their work. In addition, in school, the LVI researched and presented facts about homelessness; they did a huge amount to raise awareness of this worthy cause. A small group of LVI, the ‘Sleep Out Team’ were also interviewed for a video before and after the event by a local journalist; we look forward to watching the end result which will be circulated when it has been finalised. It too, will be used to promote awareness.
I should like to extend my thanks to parents and relatives in addition; without your generous support we could not have raised such a handsome sum (at the time of print £9,673.11 including gift aid). Thank you also to the PGSM who also made a generous donation. The unprecedented events of the past week will no doubt be already causing and go on to cause even more hardship; each tin of food that you donated, along with each penny of sponsorship, will be put to very good use. Our Virgin money giving page will remain live and should you be moved by recent events and wish to make any further pledges, all gestures of support, large and small, will be gratefully received by the charity.
