St Mary’s girls gave a warm welcome to our exchange partners from Niedersächsisches Internatsgymnasium, who visited the school from 19th - 26th September.
On Friday 23rd September, St. Mary’s hosted its second UV Careers Networking Evening – an event designed to allow UV girls the chance to begin formulating ideas about possible careers paths by meeting and talking in small groups to experts from a very wide range of careers.
Saturday 24th September saw us host our annual Sixth Form Open Day. The UV Form and their parents, along with with other prospective Sixth Form students, were warmly welcomed into the Helen Wright House to hear all about our Sixth Form offering.
The girls from Gibbins House (Year 10) had been looking forward to the fun social with the boys from Eton on Saturday, 24th September.
On 13th September, St Mary’s was delighted to welcome a panel of six Admissions and Student Recruitment Officers from Cardiff University, University of East Anglia, King’s College London, Lancaster University, Oxford Brookes University and the University of Reading, to talk about their universities as well as a whole host of other related topics.
I am very happy to report that all three St Mary’s girls who secured places at US universities this semester have begun their courses.
On the afternoon of Sunday, 11th September, the teams gathered in their Company tops - purple, red, green, blue and orange…the battle was on!
We are delighted that, over the summer holidays, the main kitchen and Dining Hall at St Mary’s Calne were refurbished.
The Sixth Form have made an excellent start to the year and we were delighted to welcome them back a day earlier than the rest of the school to celebrate their achievements in their external exams.
On Saturday evening, girls from the Sixth Form were invited to take part in a ‘Bubble Football’ competition.
On Thursday 8th September, Head Girl Jess and Deputy Head Girl Phoebe headed to the Landmark Hotel in London for the launch of Tatler's Schools Guide 2017.
