Independent Boarding Schools Relay Competition
Downe House hosted a fabulous Independent Boarding Schools Relay Competition with many schools taking part. All age groups swam a Medley Relay and Freestyle Relay with points from every event going towards the overall score.
The U13s were up against tough opposition with the A Team finishing 5th in both races. Younger swimmers, Emilia C (LIV) and Bess H (LIV), put in super performances along with the MIV.
The U15s were dwindling by the minute in the morning due to illness and the team was changed numerous times with UIV making up all but one of the team. The A Team, Florence B (UIV), Tara M (UIV), Nara S (LV) and Mathilda N (UIV), still managed to claim 3rd in the Medley. Tara then made way for Ailey L (UIV) in the Freestyle Relay to allow the team to claim 3rd place in that relay too. A big thank you to Willa and Cecily (UIV) for stepping in last minute and saving the day for the B Team.
The U18s were outstanding! The A Team consisting of Beam K (UVI), Eva-Rose (UVI), Belle C (UVI) and Molly C (LVI) won both their races. It was made even more special as it will be the last time many of the swimmers will be competing for St Mary’s.
Overall, St Mary’s finished 2nd place, missing out by first place by one point. Fantastic result!

South West Regionals
The South West Regional Competition was a successful event for Florence B (UIV), who had excellent and well-deserved results in her preferred events.
- 100m Freestyle – Silver
- 50m Freestyle – Bronze
- 50m Butterfly – 4th
Rookie Lifeguarding
Rookie Lifeguarding certificates were awarded to LIV who recently took part in the pool-based activity. Lots of smiles both in and out of the water. Congratulations on all your individual achievements.
