Science Technician

There is an opportunity for an experienced Science Technician to join our award-winning team (Platinum Science Mark 2018-2021) at an exciting time when the Head of Science responsibility is being passed to a new incoming Head of Department.  Our new Technician will organise and prepare Biology practical activities, provide specialist technical support for Biology (including classroom support) and will also support the other services of the Science Department resulting in a full, varied and satisfying role within the team.

This is a part time role (36 hours per week over 5 days), and a predominately term time post, equating to 36 working weeks per year (term time weeks plus one extra week in the Summer holidays).

Deputy Registrar

We are seeking an organised, self-motivated individual to assist in managing the pupil recruitment and admissions process. This is an important role in the school. The Deputy Registrar will be involved in all aspects of the admissions process, liaising with prospective parents and assisting with the organisation of events for prospective pupils. The Deputy Registrar will report directly to the Registrar, who is in addition supported by an experienced Assistant Registrar. You will deliver superb customer service and promote the school to current and prospective parents.

Excellent organisational, IT and administrative skills are essential.

This is a term time only position equating to 35 working weeks per year, plus 10 extra working days throughout the holidays (arranged in advance with the Registrar).

Cleaner (16.00-19.00)

We are seeking a reliable, trust-worthy and hard-working individual to join the school cleaning team at St Margaret's Preparatory School (on the St Mary's site) in Calne.  Children are aged 3-11 and duties of the school cleaner include making classroom and common areas clean and tidy at the end of the school day ready for the next morning.

This is a term time only position plus extra 'spring cleaning' weeks equating to 40 working weeks per year, plus opportunities for extra holiday work when the school is let out for summer activities.

Sunday Cleaner (08.00-10.00 / 10.00-12.00 or both)

We are seeking a reliable, trust-worthy and hard-working cleaner to work 2 hours (per house) in one or more of the St Mary’s Boarding Houses (2 available) on a Sunday morning.  This is predominantly during term time weeks (with the possibility of extra hours in holidays for summer lets and spring cleaning if required).  The Boarding Houses are home to the students during term time.  The Successful applicant will have training given by an existing member of staff.  There are approx. 25 working Sundays in a full academic year.

Extra holiday work when the school is let out for summer activities may be available.
