Marketing & Graphic Design Officer - Full-time

We are looking for a creative, detail orientated Marketing and Graphic Design Officer to join our busy external relations team. The ideal candidate is a team player passionate about story telling and creative design. They will be responsible for designing engaging marketing materials while executing marketing strategies to promote our brand and increase visibility. This dual role requires a combination of graphic design skills, marketing knowledge, and a keen eye for detail. The post holder will be responsible for developing engaging and on-brand publications for a range of audiences, including websites, printed and digital media, event marketing, emails, and more.

Our marketing aims to engage effectively with prospective and current parents to support the schools’ student recruitment and retention plans, while also offering regular updates to alumnae. The post holder will also support our on-site Sports Club and Foundation teams with event and media campaigns and design creation.

Graduate Assistant - Dance/Performing Arts (1 year FTC, Residential)

The Graduate Assistant is attached to one of six boarding houses. They are responsible for supporting the House team in all aspects of the girls’ welfare and pastoral life. This may include administrative, supervisory and pastoral duties. Weekend duties may involve assistance either during the day or in the evening or both. Helping to organise, supervise and accompany trips and activities is a key part of the role. The Graduate Assistant’s role is multi-faceted and this requires the individual to be a confident, well-rounded personality who enjoys life in a community and is flexible, sensible, energetic, and a good communicator.

Alongside boarding duties, Graduate Assistants will have a specialism that supports one or more departments within the school, in this case dance and performing arts. This opportunity offers the successful candidate the chance to gain confidence in working with both secondary and prep school pupils, in a busy boarding environment which offers a wealth of diverse experience. The contract is offered on a one year fixed term contract, with the possibility of extension.

Artist in Residence

This is a one year placement offering a local artist (this is not a residential post) the opportunity to explore and develop their own work by benefitting from the facilities and resources of the school, alongside inspiring students from all year groups to widen their skills and grow their confidence in respect of their own artwork.

The post is term-time only (35 weeks per year), for 7.5 hours per week over one day (Monday), working between 1300 and 2100 (which allows for a 30 minute unpaid break where supper is provided, and for supervision of a 2-hour extracurricular activity). Monday is the ideal day for this position as the applicant will be required to supervise the life drawing class for students timetabled on that evening.

The salary for this position is in the region of £34,000 FTE (for 35 days per year, this eqautes to approx. £5,000 pro rated and inclusive of statutory holiday pay).

Early Years Teaching Assistant - Bluebirds Nursery (based at St Margaret's Prep)

From September 2025 the Bluebirds Nursery at St Margaret's Prep will be open all year round.  As a result, we are excited to be hiring a Nursery Teaching Assistant to join the Early Years team from the start of the autumn term.

Nursery TAs at St Margaret’s work under the day-to-day supervision of the Head of Early Years who is responsible for supporting them in all aspects of the academic and pastoral education provided for children. Specific roles and responsibilities will be determined by the Head of Early Years and may change in line with school development and pupil need.

Cleaner - 20hrs per week, 06.00-10.00 Monday to Friday (41 weeks per year)

We have an opportunity for a conscientious and reliable cleaner to join our busy housekeeping team.

Duties include general cleaning, predominately in the main school building, but could involve a range of areas including reception areas, classrooms, communal spaces and boarding houses (including bathrooms and kitchen areas). Duties include, but are not confined to, hoovering, dusting and wiping, deep cleaning on a termly cyclical programme and daily removal of rubbish and recycling.

Kitchen Assistant

Starting September 2025 - 28.75 hours per week (Mon-Fri), 44 weeks per year (term time weeks, plus 9 school holiday weeks)

Our school kitchen is a busy environment providing freshly prepared school meals to students and staff, from breakfast to supper time, during term time weeks. Our catering team is made up of Chefs and Kitchen Assistants covering weekdays and weekends under the guidance of the Catering Manager and the Head Chef.

In addition, catering staff are required to work during some school holiday weeks providing meals for external lettings. This contract is therefore offered on a 44 week per year basis covering 35 term time weeks plus 9 weeks of lettings (planned for October, Easter and throughout the Summer). We will also be running a year-round Nursery from September 2025 which will require some catering support. Weeks falling outside the contracted times can be taken as leave, with 5.6 weeks (28 days) statutory holiday pay added to the salary.

Working hours during term time weeks are set as 09.00-14.45 Monday to Friday.  Lettings weeks may require some flexibility to work slightly different hours, or to include some weekend work if needed - this however, would be discussed and agreed in advance.

The salary is based on NLW, £12.21 per hour, £25,397 full time equivalent.  For this role, the pro-rated salary is calculated as £17,411 per year (£1,450 per month).
