UIV (Year 9) and LV (Year 10) students have spent time throughout this week completing the Astro Pi Mission Zero Challenge.

Our young coders have completed a number of tasks in 'Python' to program a message and send a pixel-based image to the International Space Station (ISS). The program will be placed in the ISS and each student will receive a certificate to show the ISS location when their program was run. This is a fitting end to the UIV 'Python' programming module that covers part of the GCSE programming standard. More information can be found here.

Also this week, 30 students who qualified in the top 10% of the UK in the 'Bebras Challenge' have been busy coding tasks for the Oxford University Computing Challenge. The tasks in this challenge are particularly difficult and I have been very impressed by how our students have managed to achieve a good number of these tasks.
