The LVI (Year 12) travelled to the Yorkshire Dales at the end of last term to complete their DofE final Gold Expedition.
They spent the first night at Hawes Youth Hostel where they had a kit check and talked through their route with their assessor, before setting out for the first day of their expedition. The weather was kind with only a few showers! The ground was favourable underfoot so all three teams made good time on their routes. Everyone was impressed by the views and the scenery, and all of the teams navigated themselves efficiently from start to finish. Some of the hills were challenging with a large rucksack and some paths became quite narrow in places; the teams were very good at supporting other members through areas that some found hard.
It was a great team effort by all to complete their four days, and still be smiling at the end!
