Last Friday, 19th November, the library was filled with the sound of St Mary’s musical talent for our annual Jazz Café concert. Daisy and Amy (UVI, Year 13) share their experience of the afternoon.

'Jazz Café was a wonderful opportunity to get together and showcase vocal and instrumental talent and to hear everything the girls have been busy working on. Two stages were set up: a smaller one for soloists, who were mostly singing with a violinist and a pianist accompaniment, and a bigger stage for bands and choirs.

The event kicked off with a fabulous performance from the Big Band, which was followed by a number of solos, the Chamber Choir singing In Berkeley Square, Scholars' Choir with an arrangement of I Got Rhythm and the Jazz Ensemble with Baby Just Cares for Me. It was wonderful to welcome parents to watch and enjoy the performances. Overall, Jazz Café was a huge success and we would like to say a massive thank you to all the staff who helped to organise the event and accompany us.’
