On Wednesday afternoon, the U16A, U14A and U14B Teams travelled to Sheldon and Hardenhuish in Chippenham to take part in the All-England Area Netball Tournament.
The U16A Team had five matches to play against the local schools. The team played with tenacity, drive and determination, resulting in wins for all of their matches (59 goals for 14 against) making them Area Champions.
The U14A Team had six matches. They lost their first match by one goal but then they hit back with a winning streak of four games. The last match was against Hardenhuish who had beaten Sheldon (who we had lost to) meaning we needed to win this match with a significant goal difference. We did win (7, - 1) - but was it enough? When we all gathered for the presentation, the atmosphere was very tense while we waited to hear the outcome. We were absolutely delighted when it was announced that, due to goal differences, our U14As were Area Champions (48 goals for 13 against). What an achievement!
The U14B Team also played with determination and had a fabulous tournament, winning all their matches too, with 54 goals for and 5 against from three matches.
It was a glorious afternoon of netball. The U16A and U14A Teams, along with the U19s, will now progress on to the County Round which will be held at Marlborough College on 6th November.
