2021 Leaver Belinda Harrison, now in her second year reading Engineering at Cambridge, has been awarded The Letitia Chitty Award, a scholarship from her Cambridge College, Newnham, for a top ability first year engineer. This prestigious award recognises her enthusiasm, inventiveness, lateral thinking, academic maturity and powers of observation and analysis. As part of the application process, Belinda undertook an interview, discussed her future career in Engineering and wrote her essay, 'As an engineer, I am going to change the world'.

We are delighted not only to share her success, but also recognise her ambitious and community-minded Calne spirit. She has been undertaking outreach work in Cambridge throughout her first year promoting Engineering to younger students, continuing from her previous Head of Company role at Calne, and even returned last year to speak with current prospective STEM and Oxbridge hopefuls at Calne.
