On the afternoon of 19th September, after watching Her Majesty’s State Funeral, the students took part in a 9km charity walk for the Young Women's Trust, in memory of our late Queen.

The girls met at 2pm and were dropped off at the bottom of the Chippenham bike path, a lovely 9km perambulation, with the sun in the sky. Staff and pupils alike thoroughly enjoyed the fresh air and pace of the day. There were plenty of dogs running around, making it a real family affair. When we returned to school, Mrs Hatlapa had ice creams and lollies available, which were gratefully received!

We are delighted to share that £1,115 has been pledged in memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for the Young Women's Trust. The JustGiving page will remain open for a little longer in case anyone else would like to make a donation. Please click here for our JustGiving page.

For context, £200 covers the cost of six months' support for one young woman through their Work it Out programme which offers free coaching and CV feedback for young women with experience of low or no pay – so the amount so far can be life changing for the young women who access their service. We are already able to support five young women and close to having sufficient funds to support six. Thank you to all those who have made a contribution.
