Twelve girls from LV and UV enjoyed a thought-provoking three days away as part of their preparation for Confirmation.
The group travelled to the Urban Saints Centre at Westbrook on the Isle of Wight, making the journey from Southsea to Ryde on the hovercraft – a novel experience for many. Alongside the more thoughtful and spiritual aspects of the residential, there was also time for lots of fun activities. The group especially enjoyed learning bushcraft, such as finding out how to build shelters, make fires, filter water and cook over an open fire, as well as reflecting upon the relationship between nature and its Creator. The evening meetings focussed on the personal and relational nature of a living Christian faith. The trip culminated with an act of worship around the campfire on Thursday evening, which was an enjoyable end to the experience.
