We were really lucky to meet Louisa Reeve recently and hear about her experience of the historical costume world, her insights into hand sewing, fashion and the professional world of careers within this industry.
It was interesting to hear about and see the different costumes that Louisa has created and how her skills and approach has changed over time. Everyone really enjoyed challenging themselves, learning new sewing skills and having a go at the different stitches. It linked in nicely with our theme of embroidery and sewing this week, within Gender and Human form. Everybody is really looking forward to using the skills they learnt over the coming term and hopefully we can use some of these skills within our project throughout the year.
