On 1st October, St Mary's Calne hosted local rivals, Marlborough College, for the first home fixture of the season with the u13, u14 and u15 Teams all playing. This was a great challenge for the teams, playing good competitive lacrosse games.
U13s
The u13s had an opportunity for all the year group to play, matching up against the u14 year group meaning they were playing against a year above. It was an excellent game with the home team taking the win. All players challenged the ball carrier when defending with some great one-to-one marking! In attack there were some very determined individual drives on goal with some accurate finishes. It was a great team effort, resulting in a 9 – 4 win.
U14s
The U14 Team played Marlborough’s U14 and U15 Teams. Throughout both matches they dominated the field and played well as a team. In the first match they won 8-3 against the U14s and in the second match they won 4-2 against the U15 Team. The girls have been pushing themselves and there was real determination and motivation on the pitch. The defence worked well and kept the opposing team out. Well done to the following goal scorers: Coco x3, Willa x4, Jemima x3, Esme x1 and Emily x1.
U15s
The U15 Team played a superb game against a fast Marlborough team. There were a number of great individual performances, but a special mention must go to Eliza in goal who had a number of spectacular saves along with accurate clears out, and Baylee who was outstanding in the centre! The whole team came together in the second half and played as a team supporting each other on the pitch; it was fantastic to watch the 10 – 3 win.
