On Friday 9th December, LV and UV German students went to Radley for an immersive Christmas market experience. We played games, sang Christmas carols in German, and talked to both the Radley and Downe House students in German, which was an amazing opportunity to practise our conversational skills.
Through thoughtfully organised activities, such as treasure hunts and Christmas-themed quizzes, we welcomed the Christmas spirit whilst also expanding our German vocabulary. We were also able to have a taste of a typical German Christmas market experience by trying delicious Weihnachtsmarkt snacks, such as pretzel sticks, hot chocolate, and ‘Lebkuchen’ gingerbread biscuits. The Radley boys were very friendly and we were glad to join them in having supper in the main hall, which concluded a very enjoyable evening.
