On Thursday 24th November, students in the LVI and UVI spent their evening baking a multitude of cakes for the Swindon Domestic Abuse Support Service pop up shop in Marlborough. Friday 25th November was White Ribbon Day and the charity’s pop-up shop was planned to coincide with this important day when men are invited to make the pledge to never commit, condone or stay silent about men’s violence against women. We put a St Mary’s twist on this and made ribbons available to all who wished to wear them to pledge never to commit, condone or stay silent about domestic violence.
Thank you to the Thea for leading the baking in the LVI and Bonnie in the UVI. Their efforts were much appreciated, and we were delighted to hear that every single cake was sold!
