The staff and students at St Mary's were very proud indeed to be marking Pride Month with our own Pride Week celebrations! The week kicked off on Monday with an excellent Chapel lead by Izzy and Eléa, followed by a Pride themed bake sale at breaktime.
On Tuesday, girls were invited to decorate the trees in the orchard with multicoloured ribbons, and the multicolour theme continued into Wednesday's rainbow tuck sale!
On Thursday, the school came together for a rainbow home-clothes day with Ms Palfreyman and Mr Waldron following their secret beauty industry calling as manicurists for a charity nail painting session at lunchtime!
Thank you so much to everybody who got involved in supporting these important celebrations. In total, £414.50 was raised in voluntary donations which will be donated to the RISE Trust - a local charity which has been previously supported by St Mary's Calne. RISE provides safe youth spaces across Wiltshire and runs a LGBTQ+ Café for young people to attend and socialise, have discussions and ask questions.
Please enjoy these pictures of some of the LIV (Year 7) getting fully involved in the bright colours for Thursday's home-clothes day!
