On Friday 8 November, Junior Consort took part in a special evening celebrating diversity and talent at St Edmund’s Church Calne, in aid of The Harbour Project and Saint Edmund’s Catholic Primary School. With firm links already in place between St Mary’s, the Harbour Project and St Edmund’s, this was a perfect fusion of entertainment and mutual support.

Junior Consort were excited by the wealth of performers, with the Arabic folk songs and Indian dancing being particularly uplifting. With Mrs Bethan Dudley Fryar as Musical Director and Mr Mark Sandon-Williams as accompanist, Junior Consort performed music by Harry Styles and were pleased to support the local community primary schools’ choir, the Major Minors Children's Choir, as they opened proceedings. Violin solos, poetry readings and ‘Occasional  Troubadours’ also filled the church with vibrancy and showcased a huge diversity of talent.

Over £1000 was raised this evening and the organiser, Victoria Nye, was thrilled with the far reaching joy this second ‘Notes of Hope’ concert created. Refreshments were served and the evening then drew to a close.

Charlotte, Choral Scholar in LIV, enjoyed the evening, commenting: 'The concert on Friday was so enjoyable, I loved all the different types of music they had and the amazing dancing. Performing was super fun and just to be there was fantastic. I particularly liked that there were some families there performing together and the nice snacks after.'

Ysa, LVI, also agreed and said: 'I was absolutely amazed by the variety and diversity of performance that was celebrated. The dancing and poetry were breathtaking.'

Congratulations to everyone who performed, it was a truly memorable evening.
