Last week, Joyce Walters Boarding House (UV) enjoyed two fantastic socials - firstly, an Après-Ski Party themed post-mock GCSE celebration, followed a few days later by a night of reeling with Radley College.
UV Post-Mock GCSE Celebration
This year's post-mock GCSE celebration was a themed Après-Ski Party with students, parents and House staff all getting into fun! The night was filled with laughter, excitement, music and a huge variety of awesome skiing-inspired outfits and fun activities. The amazing food ranged from s'mores to candy floss and, of course, Mrs Visser and Miss Setterington’s impeccable BBQ.
Clara wowed the crowd with her talented DJ-ing skills and got the crowd dancing, with even 'Storm Setterington' joining in! The garden looked amazing with sparkly lights adorning it and a range of stalls; the crowd favourite was definitely the s'mores - we might have had one too many! Mrs Harrison awarded prizes for 'best dressed' with parents, teachers and students all winning.
A massive thanks to Mrs Thorneloe, Mrs Smedley, Mrs Visser and Miss Setterington - we could not have done it without them! We hope everyone had as great a time as we did and that it continues to be a UV tradition.

Social with Radley College
After weeks of anticipation, we were all ready to have some fun after our mock GCSE exams. On Saturday, 40 boys from Radley College joined for us for an black tie evening of Scottish reeling. We had a great time chatting to all the boys while eating a delicious supper of lasagne and elderflower fizz in the wonderfully decorated Dining Room.
After supper, it was time for dancing in the Theatre! We all enjoyed learning how to reel and putting some of our practice we had learnt in Reeling Club, to good use. In between the dances, we had some lovely cupcakes to fuel our dancing!
A huge thank you must go to Mrs Thomas and her Catering Team for an excellent supper and to Mrs Visser and the JW House team for organising the magnificent evening. Fun was had by all and it was an experience to remember!
