We were treated to a delightful musical feast at today’s Music@Lunch concert, held in celebration of Shrove Tuesday. The concert opened with a lively performance from Strictly Strings, who brought energy and fun to the stage with Parsnip Polka and Jammin’, both pieces brimming with rhythm and charm.

Next, we were captivated by a beautifully choreographed rendition of What Is This Feeling? from Wicked, performed by Kate and Ysa (L4). Their expressive delivery and dynamic performance left the audience thoroughly entertained.

Following that, Chloe and Suri (M4) brought a touch of romance to the stage with a heartfelt performance of City of Stars from La La Land, accompanied by Catrina on piano. Their chemistry and emotional depth truly captured the essence of the song.

The concert continued with a hauntingly beautiful rendition of Billie Eilish's Birds of a Feather, sung by Chloe and Catrina. Their voices blended effortlessly, creating a moving, ethereal atmosphere.

Norah (U6), one of our senior music scholars, then graced us with a masterful performance of the Canzonetta from Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto. Her flawless technique and expressive playing wowed the audience, showcasing the depth of her musical talent.

Finally, Halia (L6) closed the concert with an exhilarating performance of the 3rd movement from Haydn’s Piano Sonata No. 49. Her vibrant and energetic playing left the audience on a high note, providing a perfect conclusion to the event.

As the concert concluded, the audience was left feeling truly nourished by such an eclectic range of performances. Indeed, music truly is 'food for the soul'!
