Every year, we look forward to our annual trip to Shrewsbury with the U15 and U14 netball teams to take part in the Condover Hall tournament, and this year was no exception. With the sun shining and spirits high, the girls kicked off their weekend with a series of exciting activities, including climbing, archery, axe throwing, and flying foxes. Saturday morning was filled with laughter and adventure, and by the afternoon, the netball matches began. The U15s played 7 matches, while the U14s played 5, each with their game faces on, ready to take on some incredibly strong teams from across the country.

By the end of the day, the U15s had earned five wins and two draws, securing them a well-deserved 2nd place finish, while the U14s achieved four wins and one loss, also placing them in 2nd. But the fun didn’t stop there – the girls continued with activities like tunnelling, the maze room, and even organised their own game of capture the flag! Day 2 began with a hearty breakfast and the U15s were fired up for their first match at 8.45am, bringing a spectacular 16-1 win. The U14s followed suit, playing their hearts out and winning all three of their games.

The final game for the U15s was the decider for the overall tournament victory, and they faced Wolverhampton, who they had drawn 9-9 with the day before. With a solid team talk and determination, the girls were ready for action. Wolverhampton didn’t know what hit them – the team was unstoppable, with great ball control, sharp shooting, and incredible teamwork. The U15s triumphed with a 10-2 win, claiming the overall tournament victory.

The stats speak for themselves: the U14s scored 103 goals for and 25 against, while the U15s scored 142 goals for and 38 against. This weekend was a true celebration of camaraderie and fun between the two teams, filled with laughter and sunshine in Shrewsbury.

The girls played their hearts out and truly deserved these amazing results.

A huge congratulations to them all – as we often say, 'netball is life!'
