Last Thursday, myself and eight other LVI students had the opportunity to take our Young Enterprise company, POW Self Defence, to the Young Enterprise Wiltshire Showcase in Swindon. Since September, we have been preparing for the competition, getting involved in online events and Christmas Fairs to promote our product and company, so we were very excited to finally present to a panel of judges.

We arrived at the venue in the morning and were given the chance to set up our trade stand, as well as visit other student companies to learn about their products, a great opportunity to see what other schools have been doing under the Young Enterprise programme. The other stands were all extremely impressive and showcased products such as reusable bamboo toothbrushes and wooden air fresheners, and the feedback we received from the other teams was very positive and encouraging.

After the four judges then visited our stand, asking questions about our company, from finances to our efforts to stay sustainable, Amelie, Martha and I were able to present to the other Young Enterprise teams and the judges to further showcase our product.

At the end of the day, the judges came to their decision and we were awarded the Wiltshire Company of the Year! Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us throughout the process, especially Mr Poole, and we are so excited to be able to present our company and product again at the South West Showcase in May.
