Last Friday, our U18 cricketers played a thrilling T20 match against Godolphin at Avebury Cricket Club in the School Sport Magazine T20 Cup.
SMC batted first, posting a solid 105 off their 20 overs, with captain Issy P top-scoring with 35. Godolphin fought back strongly, with their first wicket falling only in the 8th over. This wicket proved to be a turning point, and SMC capitalised by claiming 9 wickets, with Phoebe C, Ottilie LL, Sophia SP, Bea M, Clemmie IE, Issy P, and Georgia A all contributing to the total.
Despite our strong efforts, it all came down to the final over, with Godolphin hitting the winning runs with just one ball to spare.
We look forward to entering the T20 Cup again next year, hopefully with U13, U15, and U18 teams.
Congratulations on the brilliant team effort shown by all of our cricketers!
