St Mary's Calne
This term our Rangers and Guides have chosen to either do First Aid Stage 5 or Reflect Stage 5 for their skills builders. From learning to make splints and use an AED (a mock up on teddies for safety purposes!) to learning to treat sprains those doing first aid have added some useful skills to their repertoire. Those completing Reflect first aid have actually completed their Skills Builder (badges to follow) which involved learning about compromise through building spaghetti towers, designing a non alcoholic drink to represent their friend and learning traditional skills such as knotting and semaphore.
Whilst next term is shorter we have Guide camp in the May Half Term to look forward to as well as canoeing one Sunday in June, finishing with a 'penny hike' (where a coin is tossed at each intersection to see which direction you will go next) around town in the last meeting.
