We’re off to a cracking start with our Honk Jr. rehearsals this term, and this year’s Junior Production is shaping up to be truly eggs-cellent!

All puns aside, Mrs Fryer and I have been absolutely blown away by the LIV/MIV cast’s talent, focus, and creativity. Rehearsals have been a real blast, and the musical numbers are sounding beautiful. From showstoppers like Wild Goose Chase, performed by Giselle P and her enthusiastic squaddies, to the soulful Different, sung by Octavia SP, the energy and passion are remarkable.

The show follows the journey of Ugly, a duckling born to Ida and Drake, who seems a little different from their siblings. Adventure and mishap ensue, with help (and hindrance) from a wily cat, a squadron of geese, and a chorus of frogs. But what will become of poor Ugly?

A well-known tale, told with heart and humour, Honk Jr. reminds us not to judge a book by its cover—or more specifically, a duck by its feathers.
