Congratulations to the winners of our Comedy Creature Capers Writing Competition. This fabulous furry story prize was the brainchild of LIV pupils Lucy and Josie who came up with the idea of running an in-house writing competition for  all the aspiring comics and animals lovers of the LIV and MIV.

As part of our Futures Programme for the LVI on Saturday mornings, the students took part in two sessions covering introductions to both car and bike maintenance.

Dr James led an inspiring Chapel today in celebration of World Book Day, encouraging pupils to 'Read Your Way' by reflecting on where we read, how we read, and what we read for pleasure - from traditional books and places, to the growing popularity of graphic novels and 'reading on the move' with audiobooks. 

This term, St Mary’s Guides and Rangers completed activities for badges, including life skills, campaigning, and cooking, while welcoming new members and celebrating International Women’s Day. 

St Mary’s Lego League team reached the final of the First Lego League Regional Competition, where they won in a thrilling two-match final against our own St Margaret's Prep robotics team. 

St Mary’s Calne excelled at the annual Latin and Greek Reading Competition at Bryanston School, with Heidi winning the Intermediate Greek category, Guinevere and Amelia, who came third and second in the Senior Greek respectively, and Tabi and Silver sharing first place in Senior Latin Prose.

Open Mic Night, featuring 35 talented performers and a live band, brought Charity Week to a spectacular close, showcasing the school’s community spirit in support of this year's charity, the Stroke Association.

Congratulations to St Mary’s English teacher, Catherine Bruton, whose latest children’s book  ‘Bird Boy’ was shortlisted for one of the UK’s biggest book awards, the Nero Book Awards. The awards ceremony, a red carpet affair in London's West End, took place this week.

We were treated to a delightful musical feast at today’s Music@Lunch concert, held in celebration of Shrove Tuesday. The concert opened with a lively performance from Strictly Strings, who brought energy and fun to the stage with Parsnip Polka and Jammin’, both pieces brimming with rhythm and charm.

Exciting news today as the school community gathered to hear the 2024/25 Head Girl Trio - Claire, Bea, and Honor - proudly introduce the new Head Girl Trio for 2025/26.
